This extremely rare find is an AMD Opteron 156 CPU 3.0 GHz!! Socket 939.

This is the fastest native single core cpu ever made for the AMD platform and the only CPU for the 939 socket platform at/over 3.0Ghz. Even faster than the mighty FX-57/FX-60. Super rare, small quantity produced for specific server OEM's, and extremely hard/basically impossible to find.Was very late production on the 939 platform and retail availability was basically nonexistent. The bigfoot of Retro CPU collections and on top of that It's excellent condition.

It should be compatible with most Nforce 3 Ultra & Nforce 4 ultra 939 Socket motherboards, with the highest bios revision. Any board that excepts the Opteron 154 should also work with this Opteron 156.Official compatibility with Tyan Tomcat K8E (S2865) and Tyan Tomcat K8SH(S3850) is noted and are based on Nforce 4 Ultra Chipset.
